Three-car accident leaves one dead, another seriously injured

Lawsuits involving multi-car, fatal accidents raise difficult questions about liability. A car accident involving three vehicles left one person dead and another person in stable condition but recovering from a serious injury. The accident happened in Riverside in the vicinity of La Sierra University.

According to initial reports, one driver missed a red light and went through an intersection traveling fast. The driver struck two other vehicles before his own car flipped and he was thrown from the vehicle. Police said he died at the scene of the accident.

The driver of one of the vehicles hit was trying to turn left at the same intersection. He was transported to a local hospital and was, according to police, seriously injured but in stable condition.

The accident is still under investigation. Riverside residents are being encouraged to contact the police if they have additional information about the incident.

When a person is injured in a car accident caused by another party's negligence, the injured may seek compensation for medical bills and other damages through a personal injury lawsuit.

A multi-vehicle accident can sometimes mean that multiple parties can be held liable, as in cases where more than one party injured another through negligence. However, in many multi-vehicle accidents, only one party was at fault. If the negligent driver dies in the accident, the injured may need to file suit against the estate of the deceased person.

People who have been injured in a car accident caused by another driver can discuss their legal options with a skilled car accident attorney in Redlands.
